The word “Banyan” comes from the Banyan tree which originates from the Asian/African tree and means ‘wish fulfilling tree’. This tree represents eternal life because of its seemingly ever expanding branches and its aerial roots. Banyans have become important meeting places for many people who ga ther in its shade to relax and chat.
